This course presents everything supervisors and mentors need to know when working with graduate students, speech-language pathology assistants, clinical fellows and professionals. Following a review of ASHA guidelines and what it means to supervise and mentor, participants will explore skills and influences on supervision including providing constructive feedback, cultural and generational differences, and remote supervision. Instilling reflective practice will be discussed, as will ethics in supervision.

Shellie Bader, M.A., CCC-SLP, As a successful leader and mentor in the private sector and urban school districts, Shellie Bader has extensive experience guiding the clinical practice of therapists with varied backgrounds and at all levels of expertise. Her dedication to effective supervision has led to higher quality services in schools, clinics and in the community. Shellie was honored with the CSUN Distinguished Alumni Award in 2014, as well as the CSHA Outstanding Achievement award in 2006 and 2014.
