Participants will learn and practice strategies for enhancing parent competence and confidence in Infant-Toddler Early Intervention settings. Principles of adult learning will be reviewed, and application of coaching strategies will be introduced. Video analysis and reflection tools will be used for application of concepts to practice.

Patty Miller, OTR/L

Patty Miller, OTR/L, is a certified and licensed occupational therapist with over 20 years’ experience in pediatric practice. Patty has worked in school settings, outpatient clinics, and now specializes in early intervention, where she provides staff support and training as well as direct service. She has extensive experience working with young children and their families in the natural environment. Patty has participated in the coaching process as both a coach and coachee. Patty has facilitated workshops and trainings of therapists, special educators, and medical residents on the topic of coaching caregivers.

  3. Utilize tools for self-reflection to assess their coaching relationships.
  4. Access resources for additional support and ongoing learning.
