This course will address what a behavior intervention plan (BIP) is comprised of and how other professionals can understand and support students who have one. It will also provide information on how to understand and implement basic behavioral strategies and when to seek advanced support when challenging behaviors become more severe.

Instructor Information

Alfredo Montiel
Alfredo Montiel, MA, BCBA, holds a Masters in Teaching with a specialization in autism from National University. He’s a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and has provided support to families with children with developmental delays for over 12 years in Los Angeles County and Orange County. Mr. Montiel has worked with a variety of insurance companies, regional centers, school districts, and has provided support to families in the home, community, and school settings. His main area of interest is in organizational behavior management, along with staff and parent trainings.

Alexandra Kopack
Alexandra Kopack, MA, BCBA, has Masters in Applied Positive Psychology and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She became interested in the field of ABA because of her passion for helping others be the best versions of themselves. For the past 5 years she has worked in the field as an RBT, case supervisor, and currently is the Regional Director for San Diego as well as ACE Coordinator for EBS Healthcare. Her goal is to provide the highest-quality data-driven services in a way that is approachable and fun so that both service providers and those receiving services can thrive.

  2. Describe how to use basic antecedent interventions.
  3. Describe how to use basic consequence interventions.
  4. Identify when and how to ask for help with more severe problem behaviors based on setting.

  • 15 minutes: Introduction and brief overview of previous Behavior Strategies 1.0
  • 45 minutes: Define BIP and antecedent interventions
  • 60 minutes: Consequence interventions, asking for help based on setting, questions
  • 10 minutes: Post test
