This presentation will cover assessment and treatment for school-age children who stutter including a discussion of:
- Typical characteristics of developmental stuttering
- Best practices when assessing children exhibiting disfluencies
- Writing goals for school-age children who stutter
- Therapy considerations when working with children who stutter
Dr. Robin Edge is a Professor of CSD at Jacksonville University where she teaches fluency disorders, healthcare ethics, professional issues, and international rehabilitation policy/cultural competence. Prior to academia, she owned and operated a multi-therapy private practice and has many national and international publications and presentations in fluency disorders, quality of life, and ethics. She currently serves at the Florida ASHA Advisory Council representative, the FLASHA Vice-President for SLP, and is the Topic Co-Chair for the 2020 ASHA convention’s Business Practice and Management committee. She works with EBS providing CEUs to school districts and at the EBS Children’s Institute in Jacksonville, Florida.
